Waking up at ANA ANAN Resort & Villas Pattaya, too lazy to drive out, we stopped by Under the Sun, the hotel's seaside restaurant with a red theme set against green lawns and sandy beach — a beautiful, chill view. The fusion food is excellent: the parma ham, melon, and burrata salad is refreshing and juicy. There's also a mixed fried platter with fish, squid, prawns, and onion, plus potato wedges with 3 dips — the spicy mayo one was our favorite.
The wagyu burger uses good beef with a soft brioche bun. The soft-shell crab pad thai is well seasoned, a Thai flavor even Westerners love. There's croissant with poached shrimp for non-meat-eaters. For dessert, a lava cake with ice cream, perfect for the heat, and a ladyfinger-style tiramisu.
