ChomSindh Bangkok restaurant, inside the newly renamed Amari Bangkok hotel (formerly AMARI WATERGATE), has been given a sleek, modern, upscale makeover, birthing a stylish and genuinely delicious Thai restaurant. Its focus is entirely on seafood and aquatic ingredients, sourced directly from producers with clear traceability, supporting local communities.
Sang wa tiger prawn salad is refreshing, and the crab kua curry with betel leaf and sea blite is fragrant with curry paste. "Nari Kran Saeng" springy sea prawns stir-fried with holy basil three ways is excellent. Pad Thai with river prawns is something we order every single time, and the squid stir-fried in its own ink is refreshing with a hint of sweetness.
The ChomSindh seafood congee is well-balanced, and the tom kha with fried snakeskin gourami is a highlight, fried better than we've had anywhere. The pad cha with sea bass is fully loaded, the grilled prawns are as big as a palm and fragrant with charcoal, the pomelo salad might be the best in the kingdom right now, and there's a multi-flavor Thai coconut pudding to finish.
