We tried Fa Pla Than (Fá Plā Tahń) at Central Chidlom, a fish congee and fish ball noodle restaurant with various fish cuts. We ordered a dry congee with 3 kinds of fish — sea bass, grouper, and pomfret — plus pork liver, served with a seafood dip. The fish was incredibly fresh and delicious. Next came tom yum noodles with fish balls and fish meat, thin noodles blanched to just the right doneness, with a well-seasoned tom yum broth. The crushed peanuts sprinkled on top were fragrant, and the fish balls were large with little flour, incredibly good — no need to season further.
The mixed blanched fish balls with dip were great too, delicious. The fried fish skin was clearly freshly fried, delicious again. Drinks were up to standard. For 2 people, we ordered 2 noodle soups, 1 fish congee, 2 drinks, 1 fried fish skin, and 1 blanched-with-dip — total came to just over 1,200 baht, and we were completely full. If you like fish congee, this is the place — delicious, great broth, top-quality ingredients.
