Picked up some food from Mae Sri Nam Prik to try — looking for easy meal options while getting ready for a hiking trip. Got 4 ready-to-eat pouches: chicken massaman curry, chicken curry, chicken green curry with young coconut shoots, and chicken panang curry — delicious across the board, we liked the chicken curry the most. 30 baht a pouch, generously packed with chicken for the price, enough to fill you up over rice.
The shop's famous Klang Dong chili paste has crispy dried shrimp, slightly salty, with fried dried chili seasoned lightly sweet — eaten together the sweet-salty balance is spot on. Normally eaten with plain rice and omelette, but it's also good eaten plain as a snack. We finished with round balls of mee krob, perfectly sweet-sour, crispy and fun to chew. This is a famous food-and-souvenir shop in Nakhon Pathom, with a branch in Bangkok too.
