Today we're trying street food that isn't actually on the street, but with the deliciousness taken up a level — BOON STREET FOOD. Easy-to-eat dishes like khao man kai, red pork, crispy pork, and grilled pork neck, made with carefully sourced ingredients and seasoned by an experienced chef. The atmosphere is tidy, shaded, and clean, with prices starting at 79 baht.
The crispy pork uses a Hong Kong recipe, crispy thin skin over juicy meat, made over 48 hours. The grilled pork neck uses real pork neck, paired with an Isaan-style jaew tamarind dipping sauce. The Singapore-style boiled chicken is juicy, matched perfectly with a Thai soybean dipping sauce. The fried chicken has a crispy batter and tender meat, great for making a spicy chicken salad too.
There's a Japanese salad with fresh vegetables and a choice of 3 dressings, plus drinks like Thai tea, old-style coffee, and black iced coffee, all excellent. It finishes with a firm, bouncy grass jelly. Open 10 AM-8 PM. Call 065-808-6005.
