When people think of Korean BBQ, many assume every restaurant is the same — but Haru Ekkamai takes it a level above ordinary grilling, done really well and still approachable, no need to dress up for fine dining. The ingredients are carefully sourced; you can tell they're using good quality the moment you eat.

The side dishes are excellent: kimchi, salad greens, pickled vegetables, and crispy fried lotus root coated in sweet-and-sour sauce, all unlimited refills. The haemul pajeon (Korean seafood pancake) is better than what we've had in Korea itself, and the mul naengmyeon (cold noodles) has a great chewy texture.

The meat selection includes Wagyu Ribeye, Chuck Short Rib, and Oyster Blade, with staff grilling it to your preferred doneness. The marinated pork collar is tender and fragrant, the mala ramyeon is great, the fried chicken has excellent crispy batter, the cheese-filled rolled egg is stretchy and rich, and the fresh marinated crab is just right.

Open 5 PM-5 AM, Ekkamai 12, with parking in front. Call 082-979-7772.
