Finally tried Kobe Tonteki after a friend recommended it. Ordered the signature 1.5-hour sous vide pork with a special sauce — went in with high expectations, but didn't love it. It felt like ordinary roast pork, and the texture we got might have just been bad luck. The sauce wasn't quite wow-worthy, though eatable. If we go back, we probably won't order this dish again.
The other dish we ordered was grilled tongue, done well — much more delicious. Next time, we'd try this shop's grilled dishes instead. The price relative to portion size is middle-of-the-road. The miso soup in the set was genuinely tasty, and there was Japanese salt to dip the grilled tongue in, really delicious. We'd go back, but we won't order the 'recommended' item again.
