Kwan Kee Claypot Rice, on Queen's Road on Hong Kong Island. Go around 6-7 PM and you may need to queue since the shop just opened. It's famous for claypot rice, so ordering means waiting a bit longer. How to eat it: pour the dark sauce over and mix it all through right in the pot before scooping into your bowl. The marinated meat and egg taste rich and delicious, and the salt-and-pepper fried squid is tender, bouncy, and very garlicky.
The black bean sauce pork ribs had just a hint of chili, fairly middle-of-the-road. The beef stir-fried in oyster sauce with pineapple and other vegetables was quite good. Personally, we felt this style of dish is done even better at similar restaurants in Singapore.
