"Long Phee Mee Kiew" ("Ghost Coffin Wonton Noodles") — a name that already sounds like a must-try, and the flavor is even more impressive. It's located next to Wat Saket School (Golden Mount Temple).
The red pork is genuinely shocking — this is a street-food wonton noodle stall, but the red pork comes at a Hong Kong standard. Tender, juicy, thick-cut, fragrant with charcoal — it checks every box. The shrimp wontons are packed with a whole plump shrimp, fragrant with sesame oil. The noodles are good quality, chewy and enjoyable. The minced-pork wontons are dense and generous, but the shrimp version still wins.
The dry noodles come topped with fried garlic and pork lard, with red pork sauce drizzled over — the most correct assembly of a red pork noodle you can get. The soup noodle broth is a touch sweet, which we liked. The candied palm fruit is delicious, and there's a bag of crispy wonton skins on the table you can take for free.
We'd recommend the dry shrimp wonton noodles, just as good as anywhere. The shop is open noon to 9 PM (closed Mondays).
