Happened to snag a reservation and just went — a hugely trending spot, Oyatsu no Jikan, the famous shaved-ice shop from Tokyo. The French Toast needs advance booking; without the salt that comes with it, it would be too rich — the bread is soaked completely through with egg.

The Strawberry kakigori, Japanese-style shaved ice, has torched cheese on top — we'd recommend scooping all the way down to the ingredients inside and eating them together for a refreshing, crunchy bite. The Milk & Meringue Kakigori has a rich milk flavor, with delicious mochi and red beans. Overall it leans light, Japanese-style — personally we think the richer Thai-style shaved ice suits our taste better, but if you like something light, worth a try.
