Looking back to Saturday, June 13, One Bangkok teamed up with Alliance Française Bangkok to hold Bangkok World Music Day 2026, a free music festival aiming to be the largest in Southeast Asia, building on 2025's edition which drew over 7,000 attendees and pulled more than 135,400 people into the project area.
The event traces its roots to France's Fête de la Musique festival, first held in 1982, which became a worldwide tradition held every year on June 21. The French Embassy in Thailand has hosted it continuously for years before settling at One Bangkok for the first time in 2025.
This year expanded to 5 stages, 5 moods: the main One Bangkok Park stage, the top draw of the event (4-10 PM); the Chang Canvas stage, fully loaded with dynamic acts (3:30-11:15 PM); the Busking Stage along the street, opening space for new artists to show their skills (2-4 PM); The Wireless Club for the dance-party crowd running until midnight; and the Alliance Française Bangkok stage for those who prefer a deeper listening experience (2-9:45 PM).
The lineup featured over 30 artists from around the world. International acts included OJOS (France), André Mergenthaler (Luxembourg/Germany) blending cello with loops, JJ Paulo (Denmark) in an Afro-Pop style, and Claudio Filippini (Italy) on the jazz side. Thai indie acts were fully represented too, with YONLAPA, Hugo, Hot Like Hell, Salin, and TONTRAKUL, who blend Isaan instruments with electronic sound.
Besides the music stages, there was also a flea market zone and restaurants along One Bangkok Boulevard for a full day of chill strolling. Admission was free, but required registering for a wristband in advance through the One Bangkok app. If it continues next year, this is an event music lovers in Bangkok shouldn't miss.
