When thinking of a beach getaway close to Bangkok, no long drive needed, a stylish hotel like ANA ANAN Resort & Villas Pattaya comes to mind, with plenty of photo spots. We're reviewing dinner: the Seafood BBQ Buffet at Squid & Co., the hotel's main restaurant. They set up a charcoal grill for seafood — squid, mantis shrimp, prawns, shellfish — the squid comes out bouncy and fragrant off the charcoal, and the seafood dipping sauce is excellent.
The grilled mantis shrimp and river prawns are just the right size. The marinated grilled pork neck is beautifully done, the tastiest item of the night. There are oysters, a Japanese sashimi corner, noodles, a salad bar, spaghetti, and plenty of desserts. Adults pay 1,190 baht, children 595 baht (ages 5-12). Free-flow soft drinks add 100 baht, free-flow beer adds 400 baht.
