Thailand's #1 grandest mala shabu chain has stormed into the heart of Bangkok — SHU DAXIA Thailand opened its 2nd branch on the 6th floor of MBK. It's a premium mala hot pot brand from Chengdu with over 600 branches in China, decorated in a grand dragon-palace theme, with a giant dragon statue, plenty of photo spots, magic shows, face-changing performances, Chinese dance, and live music.

There are 9 broth options — today we picked the beef mala soup (the shop's recommendation), a well-balanced fish maw soup, and a sour tomato soup to cut the richness. Recommended dishes include beef tongue flower, snow duck intestine, shrimp-and-shrimp-roe balls, yin-yang shrimp, pork liver, and swordsman-style beef.

There's a dipping sauce bar where you can mix your own, or use one of the shop's 5 recipes. VIP and VVIP rooms are available with individual pots at each seat. Book through LINE OA @shudaxiath. Open 10 AM-3 AM.
