Plainly first: we have not been to Tomorrowland ourselves. This piece is compiled from Tomorrowland's official websites (we read the Thailand edition's info straight from the official site) and press coverage, not from the ground. But the festival lands in Thailand this December, so here is what it is, why the world fights over tickets, and what ticket holders need to know.
From a park in Boom to the festival the world waits for
It started with an idea from two Belgian brothers, Manu and Michiel Beers. The first edition ran on 14-15 August 2005 at the De Schorre provincial park in Boom, near Antwerp, with promoter ID&T involved. Roughly 8,700 people came (some sources say about 10,000). Then it just kept growing: two weekends from 2014, and in 2022 the press reported about 600,000 visitors over three weekends. The brand also spawned TomorrowWorld in Georgia, USA (2013-2015), Tomorrowland Brasil and Tomorrowland Winter in the French Alps. The organiser today is WEAREONE.world.

What people always mention is the world around the music, not just the line-up. Every year has its own theme and story, and fans call themselves the People of Tomorrow. 2026 was the 20th edition in Boom, and the official site says more than 400,000 visitors came over two weekends (17-19 and 24-26 July) to 16 stages and more than 850 artists. Watch this year's official aftermovie to get the picture.
What the festival looks like, from Tomorrowland's press photos: an ornate fantasy-world stage and a crowd packed out as far as you can see.

Tomorrowland Thailand: the first full-scale edition in Asia
Why Thailand? CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers of WEAREONE.world said, in short, that Thailand feels like the right place, for its beauty and energy and a shared ambition to build something meaningful and world-class. On the Thai side, the Cabinet approved a budget for TAT to support the event across 2026-2030, five years. Nation Thailand reports an estimated total cost of about THB 8.881 billion, with THB 2 billion from the government, and projects more than THB 12 billion in economic activity and over one million tourists. Brand Buffet reports a different projection of at least THB 21 billion over five years, with over 60 percent of attendees expected from abroad. The two sets of numbers do not match. Read them as projections, not results.

The dates are 11-13 December 2026 (Friday to Sunday) at Wisdom Valley in the Khao Mai Kaew area of Pattaya. The site is about 237 acres (roughly 600 rai) with room for 50,000+ people a day. Stages include the Mainstage, CORE and FREEDOM (the last two are firsts for Asia) plus new stages designed for Thailand. The official site itself says both six and seven stages. The theme is CONSCIENCIA, a world where six raw emotions become realms: Wonder, Love, Anger, Joy, Desire and Sadness, and it travels across three destinations, Belgium, Thailand and Brazil (2027).

The line-up is out, with 100+ artists from 20+ nationalities. The headliners are Martin Garrix and Swedish House Mafia, both playing Thailand for the first time, followed by Afrojack, Alan Walker, Steve Aoki, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Alok, Lost Frequencies, R3HAB and more. More than 20 Thai artists play too, including Botcash, Honey Gee, Lonskii, Yukio, Pixzy, Maysaa, Karty, Tiger Drama and Mike Bond, plus Nakadia, whom the official site calls the first Asian DJ to break into the global techno circuit.

If you are going: tickets, stay, getting there
There are four ticket types, with prices including VAT and service fees (per the official site): Day Pass THB 5,100, Day Comfort (VIP) THB 8,200, Full Madness (3 days) THB 12,500 and Full Madness Comfort (VIP) THB 20,200. The official site now shows every type as sold out, both single passes and hotel packages (the worldwide sale was on 7 March 2026 at 16:00 Thai time). Buy only through official channels: the ticket shop reached through your Tomorrowland Account (my.tomorrowland.com), the hotel-package shop, and authorised travel partners, which in Thailand include Festival Ticket Hub, Proplugin and Vibes Asia Co. The official site warns that tickets from the secondary market can be cancelled, because every ticket is personal and the name must match your ID at the gate. The Exchange Desk for passing tickets on closed on 30 August at 18:00 Thai time; passes put there are offered through the Waiting List, and the site states a THB 450 refund fee per pass. If you want a shot at a ticket, check the Waiting List status through your own Tomorrowland Account, with no guarantee.
On the day, per the official site: gates open at 13:00, close at 01:00 on Friday and Saturday and at 00:00 on Sunday, and check-in shuts at 22:00 on Friday and Saturday and 21:00 on Sunday; after that you are refused entry even with a valid pass. There is no same-day re-entry, and 3-day pass holders can re-enter only the next day. The minimum age is 20 and strictly enforced (people born in 2006 get in only if they turn 20 before the festival). Regular photo and video cameras are allowed, but not (semi-)professional gear. Prohibited items include outside food and drink, glass, cans and plastic bottles, liquids, vapes, drones and aerosols. The organisers state a zero-tolerance policy on drugs: anyone found with them is removed and may be handed to the police. The Tomorrowland Bracelet is both your entry pass and your way to pay on site, so personalise and activate it before the festival. You can have your Treasure Case delivered to your home (THB 570 delivery in Thailand) or pick the bracelet up free at the festival box office.
Getting there: the site is roughly 30 to 60 minutes from Pattaya and about 90 minutes from Bangkok without traffic (figures from third-party travel sites, not official). Official hotel packages include the shuttle. We could not find the shuttle timetable or pickup points for single-ticket holders on the official site, so watch for announcements. In our opinion, if you are going, stay in Pattaya and plan your ride home early, because 50,000+ people leave at once.
Worth it? (an opinion from the numbers, not from experience)
Do the maths. Full Madness at THB 12,500 is about THB 4,170 a day, roughly THB 2,800 less than three separate Day Passes (THB 15,300). If you want several stages and the full production, the 3-day pass looks better value. If you only want one headliner, a Day Pass will do. But once you add a hotel and transport, the real budget climbs fast. If you do not have a ticket yet, our view is do not overpay for a resold one. Reports say the deal covers five years, so there should be another chance. Follow the official channels and register an account early.

All prices and dates are as published at the time of writing (5 October 2026). Please check the official site, thailand.tomorrowland.com, before you decide.
